Today's lesson: The Nurdle
You're like, "Diana - a nurdle????" I know, I know. You use one everyday and have no idea; been there and have already had that revelation. A nurdle is precisely what you see below....
....the toothpaste swirl that goes on top of your toothbrush!
So the story goes....my current mentor, Susan, used to work in the commercial and toy industry in NYC before leaving for Los Angeles. For one of the commercial shoots, she was working for a very prominent toothpaste company in which she was told she needed to make a "stand-in nurdle." First question is obvious, "what is a nurdle?" second question, "why a stand-in?" Apparently, there are Professional Nurdle Makers! That's right, she was asked to make a stand-in nurdle while the camera angles and lighting were set because as you are aware, toothpaste melts! Once everything was ready to go, the Professional Nurdle Maker would do his thing, make a nurdle from the toothpaste tube, then jet-set somewhere else around the world to make another nurdle; he was a fancy international nurdle maker!
Now you know! The nurdle! And for fun, check out the nurdle video below :)
