Working in Hong Kong

I was in Hong Kong this past week for a business trip and brought along my 'business partner' for some time away from Shanghai.  While I visited vendors and factories, B wandered the city and explored Hong Kong island life.

We had this lovely welcome tea basket for us when we arrived at our hotel, Shangri-la.  I liked it so much that I brought one back to Shanghai - love how it fits inside the basket to keep it warm!

Really love this city!

B found an umbrella vending machine during his explorations:

And visit Stanley and the markets on the other side of Hong Kong Island from the city:

He got his fill of mexican beer with real, yummy limes!

And even rode one of the double-decker trolleys to get around!

We headed back to the Temple Street Night Market for yummy goods and shopping.
Bit of a different experience this time, no tables were outside on the streets, all inside the open walled restaurants and not as many vendors but still good sights as always!

Think any of these actually work?

And are you supposed to walk around with this on your face?....

And because I know you've been wondering.....this is how you tell if the toilet stall is a normal western toilet or a squat pot!

I had my own new experiences while visiting the vendors during the week.  Taking an hour and a half ferry ride each way to get to where I needed to be....

And eating with a non-optional plastic glove to keep fingers and hands clean since there were no plates.  People were chomping down on chicken wings, pizza, fruit, and salad all with the glove.  I had a mystery meat pizza but luckily hid that meat in my napkin like a 6 year old at the kitchen table!

Thanks for the the new memories, Hong Kong!
Will see you again!
