We left Friday night after the new windshield was cured and traffic lightened up - Saturday, Almon had a skydive so Brandon and I drove around entertaining ourselves. Here's what happened:
Old Town San Diego - Kilroy too!
Some guy passed out....
Again, guy passed out.....
Wait a minute, I recognize those shorts!
Wake up, Brandon!
After Old Town, we headed to a swap meet down the street - it was advertised on the coffee mug at the restaurant where we had breakfast....why not....
We found new sunglasses!
FYI - guy in background was very adamant about taking our picture but I think Brandon is getting the hang of the one-armed shot!
And across the street, Chick-fil-a!!!
My first sweet Chick-fil-a tea since moving to California!! Hmmmm....so good :)
Next we headed to Coronado to play at the beach!
Crab hunting.....
CRAB!
A lot different than Florida!
Resort on Coronado....pretty :)
After the beach, we decided to look for a seafood place for lunch. We ended up finding ourselves at one of the harbors for sight-seeing tours, whale watching tours, and the Midway Aircraft Carrier which is now a museum. There was also this:
GIANT statue of "the kiss" - famous sailor and gal kissing in
Times Square. All the guys were looking up her skirt....
Times Square. All the guys were looking up her skirt....
While looking at the ship, Brandon realized this was the ship his dad was on while in the Navy!
Pretty neat!
Oh, and we did find a little place to have some fish & chips :)
Oh, and we did find a little place to have some fish & chips :)
That evening, after dinner, we went shopping for some "cokes." Coca-colas, Grandma, Coca-colas.
Instead, we found an authentic mexican!
It's Juan and his "Coca-colas!"
(Brandon's alter-ego named by dad)
On Sunday, we just hung out before driving back to Los Angeles - but we were able to see some of the Naval ships on base:
White ship is the Red Cross ship....
Fun trip! We hope to visit again soon and I'm sure we will :)

Hope you guys enjoyed SanDiego & Coronado. If the resort in Coronado looks familiar, it's the Hotel Del Coronado; wired by none other than Thomas Edison; place where Wallis Simpson first met the man who would abdicate the British crown for her love. Yep, WDW "stole" her look for the Grand Floridian in Orlando.
I know Jeremy was glad to see both of you. He sent me the pic of "Juan" at the "beverage store"!!! Di, you deserve a massage for just putting up with them!
Love you both!
