Rose Parade Floats!

We are lucky to live about 15 minutes from the actual Rose Bowl and the week leading up to the parade and game, you can go look at the floats being constructed!  I was excited!  We went Thursday after work, parked in a field, paid for our tickets, then walked into a huge facility where workers and volunteers were actively cutting flowers, sorting flowers, and even putting some in blenders!  Every element has to be natural on the floats so they use leaves, seeds, petals, bark, you name it!

Yes, and that's the hand gear I've been wearing for the past few weeks....

And this is where I learned I could probably never be a volunteer.
Everyone was cutting and sorting flowers - forget that!  I want to be the one applying the seeds or whatever to the float!

Smelled like Christmas!

And B found Santa helping out!

This is the structure under the floats - love it!

And this was my favorite - the Trader Joe's wagon!  So cute!

And in another pavillion.....

Team color roses!
All the parade cars getting ready for their flowers:

And the Queen's float in progress:

And another float....

With more structure showing!  I love this stuff of course :)

And more sorters.....

Even people blending flowers!

Back at the car in the field we parked in - I didn't even realize when we got there how close we were to the stadium :)

Enjoy the parade!
